That's not the words I used to myself at the time Marj! The air was blue!
I actually do have a checklist that he copied for me, but I've written myself a new one this arvo that suits my needs, not his, and it's now sitting in front of the instrument panel, so I can't miss it!
I've also stuck one on the cupbaord above the fridge to remind me to turn the thermostat to low when I need to light it. I'm constantly swearing at the fridge too. Every now and then he hears me and says 'language Elizabeth!'
I actually suspect I'd be better at it on my own, because I'm always distracting myself by thinking I'm holding them up. I need to stop doing that.

This is a lovely spot overlooking the lake. There's a toilet, which is fairly new, but neglected cleaning wise. It looks like the grass was mown only yesterday, luckily, because going by the unmown bit, we wouldn't have gotten in, it was so long!
After leaving Cresswick Regional Park this morning, we stopped in Ballarat again to check out the lake and Botanical gardens. I'm so pleased we took the time to do this. It's such a beautiful area! The gardens were just amazing! I recommend anyone coming to Ballarat to spend some time there. Well worth it.
TomTom took us through a secondary road to Lake Bolac, instead of the highway. It was a good road with amazing countryside to view along the way.
Sounds like you are all having a great time Beth, I am following your post's so I know where you are so big brother is watching you Beth, only problem with that is I'm not your brother, oh well.

Don't know Lake Bolac but sounds like you are doing well on your trip. Been to Ballarat (Sovereign Hill) a few times but unfortunately not to the gardens. Will have to correct that next time I travel through, beautiful. Did you not go to Castlemaine and Daylesford?

Not so well as you'll see by my previous post.
Yes we did, but we decided we couldn't stop at every town that looked interesting.
We're heading west now, into SA for Robe and Beachport.
Haha. You silly chook. Just before heading off do a once around the car and van to see if anything left lying on the ground. I have a list of things to check before I move INCLUDING take the fridge off gas. Have to tell you though, its written on the back of my sun visor with permanent marker. As I sit in the van ready to move I can't miss the list. I also have height and length written there, just in case.
Stop doing that Beth. You will only stress yourself out. They will not go on without you, rest assured. If they are rushing you just call out "Settle Petal" Thats my favourite saying if anyone tries to rush me.
My bil is like my big brother, so I truly am being watched!
Stupid mistakes so far? 1/ Left my step behind somewhere. 2/ Left my wheel chock/ramp behind yesterday at Cresswick Regional Park. 3/ Missed winding up one leg at Greens Lake and bent it out of shape. 4/ Drove one whole day with the fridge still on gas. 5/ Let the loo get too full before emptying, therefore much too heavy. (Sorry, that may be too much info.)
So as you see, I need watching!
Hell! Did you run over a Chinaman or something?

You need to chillax Beth - though I must say one of the problems travelling with others, especially couples, is that they seem to get ready to leave way before you - then you stress - but remember, there are two of them, doing what you do by yourself!!! don't beat yourself up.

Thanks for those encouraging words Marj and Jules.
They're really very good at not rushing, and I know it's only me putting pressure on myself. I actually packed up well this morning with my own list in place. Didn't forget anything...except putting my reading light on charge in the car, but doesn't matter as we're on power tonight.
Ozjohn, gee I hope not! But it sure sounds like it doesn't it.
Is a green grassed Free camp at Kingston along the coast right at the jetty car park region. Must be self contained, but have seen others without using the zone and public toilets...Fishing is good.
Beachport is still very nice and hasn't been spoilt by the "Jetset mob", but Robe has become "Yuppyville"
Geez Beth! So hard not to be distracted, and the more people try to help and remind you of stuff the worse it gets! Hang in there, and enjoy without stressing!
Robe is as far north as we're going Ole Grizzly. I was told Beachport is nice too. We then head back to Mt Gambier, then head for the coast road, heading east again.
Very true about being distracted Rosy. And I'm easily distracted, I can tell you! But they mostly leave me to do it myself as I have to learn. Sis always says 'I'll check your lights for you', which is good, but breaks my train of thought. So this morning I just let her wait til I'd finished what I was doing.
If you have never been close to a "Wind Farm" then do a run into Lake Bonney farm a little South of Millicent..will amaze you.
The Info centre at Millicent has great stuff, toilets, Dump Point, and a single blade from one of those wind generators..will amaze you how huge it is.
Love Mt Gambier during the week, but dies suddenly on a weekend.
Can drive around the outer rim of the Blue Lake, see where Adam Lindsay Gordon with horse jumped over the the rim to land on a ledge. "Believe It Or Not" ha ha ha, and also his old cottage is viewable further south ..head South to Mt Shank...can,If able, to walk down inside crater. Port Mc Donnell, well? Nice Fish & Chips, and great lookouts and mileage sign post at Cape Northumberland.
But don't head east along esplanade as the rotting sea grass really stinks..lol
