I am contemplating travelling from Inverell to Grafton NSW via Gwydir Hwy. From what I can see on Google, there is a twisty, steep (?) section in the middle, around Washpool Nat Pk.
Has anyone been through there recently with a big van? I assume it is steep downhill going east? How difficult is the descent?

We did it recently John - not towing, but in the motorhome - we reckon it was pretty good - just need to take it easy, as you would anyway. Stopped at Lollback free camp when we got down, before Grafton. Pretty good.
