Stopped off at Sydney

We are pulled up at Sydney at the Richmond Bowls Club camp ground. Not bad value, $33 for 3 days, by that's the max stay. We are using this time to catch up with family and friends in Sydney. Not a lot of time to do that but better than none at all. Train into city just 10 mins walk away but the trip into the city is about one and half hours. Guess its a good time to finish reading my book. B & C

 Gday...

I have stayed at the Richmond Bowls Club previously (Wanderest Traveller's Park) and I certainly did not pay $33 for my three nights. I believed it was free unless you required power and water - and ya hadda become a member of the Bowls Club ($5).

Have they ceased the 'free camp'?? ... here is their website, it appears to still be a free camp. http://www.wanderest.com.au/

I expect to stay there about end November so I am certainly interested.

[edit: forget the URL no]

cheers - John

Wow. time goes so fast when your having fun. Doesn't seem that long ago that we had a coffee on your
way up. Followed your travels via the forum, you have had a great trip so far, and not home yet.
If you have time and want to have another catch up, let me know.

I think it has always been around $10 a night for power. Free without I think.

Hi RockyLizard, I think the case is that if you want power/water it's $10 per night. Membership is required but it's just a token amount $5.00 I think . I'll find out about the free camping thing and let you know. Regards Brian

Gday...

Thanks for the offer. However, I am still up north of Townsville (Toomulla Beach). I won't probably hit Richmond until end Nov or first week Dec.

Cheers - John
