DC Question

I hae an LCD Monitor which runs on 19v DC. What's the easiest and least expensive way to run it in my Camervan which is wired for 12v and 240v.

I assume that you want to power it with 12v DC, otherwise you could just use 240v AC as you do in a house.

Try Jaycar Electronics www.jaycar.com.au

12v DC to 19v DC (or multiple voltages) prob under $50

another way to do it is a 12v DC to 230v AC inverter. a lot more expensive but if you size it big enough you can run other mains power devices from a battery depends what size wattage but in the $000's

Cheers

They call them notebook or laptop power supplies. This one may do - http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?ID=MP3479 - if you are looking ahead and eventually want to power your portable computer from the vans battery there is a selection here - http://search.jaycar.com.au/search?w=laptop%20power%20supply

I own and regularly use a Jaycar MP-3324 http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?ID=MP3324.

It has sufficient "grunt" to power all but the most power hungry laptops. It comes with a range of connectors and voltage options to suit most laptops

Price is $59.95

Thanks for the suggestions. Went to Jaycar and purchased one for the monitor and one for the laptop.

You're welcome tcp99, I went to Jaycar today also for other parts, as I've done often in the past.

Good range of electronics stuff is mostly always at Jaycar

Cheers
