Armidale to Coffs Harbour

We are going to Armidale next week and then across to Coffs harbour to meet up with friends and I am wondering which is the best road to travel, We are towing a 21 foot van behind a Pajero, we have not travelled this way before so information on road conditions would be greatly appreciated.

As far as I'm aware, Dorrigo is the only real option. I haven't travelled this for around thirty years but had no trouble towing a 16ft Millard with a 173 HQ holden then so can't imagine it would be any worse now. A very interesting trip that really only required common sense & reasonable care.

Thanks Oldboar we will give it a go we were thinking of going tp Port and then back up to Coffs but we are now in Armidale and people here also say the road from Armidale to Coffs is ok as long as you take your time.
