Kentish Park via Sheffield Tas

Have arrived at Kentish Park free camp Camps6 #222 to find neither Optus nor Telstra internet access so the plan was to stay overnight then move on, but that was before Hanna & Julia arrived and parked close by.

This camp ground is massive and like Lagoons Beach was primarily taken over with Tasmanians in groups on holidays. I was looking for the toilet block and had to ask a ranger where I should drive to find it, no problems said he and outlined a number of corners to go round to find it. There was a concrete block across and I reversed in to claim it and no sooner done so when a lady stopped by and asked how long I would be there because she always stopped there and I said that there was room for two but she had two vans. Tough luck and I told her I had no idea how long I would be there.

Then Hanna & Julia arrived and parked near by they are a couple of young German girls camping round Tasmania in a small Honda and a smaller tent. We got talking, as you do, and we got on very well sharing meals and watching Man V Wild on the laptop, we spent Tuesday walking round the camp and lounging next to the Lake. Oh I didnt tell you that the camp is on the shores of Lake Barrington with magnificent views of the lake and trees down to the edge. We watched Mrs Browns Boys on the laptop but the speech was too fast and accented for the girls to understand but they laughed at the antics.

I have been invited to go to Cradle Mountain with them on Wednesday and out the door went my plan to go back to Sheffield. They want to climb to Marions Lookout and after Mt Roland I feel confident to tackle anything. I have two nights after tonight to get to Florinhill so we will see how that works out, they want to go to Stanley to see The Nut and camp with the penguins along the beach nearby     .John
