Apparently the girls heard penguins during the night, looked out and saw several near their tent. We had our last breakfast, Julia and Hanna set off on their way whilst I made my way to Florinhill, Bob and Rhonda"s farm. So this is the plan for the next couple of weeks. I have been given a tour of the farm and a list of things to do whilst Bob and Rhonda go travelling south on Sunday to meet up with Billeee and Jules to travel to Bruny Island. I am staying here to help look after the farm and save up for the coaster that I will collect when I return to Melbourne on the 3rd March.
As a city person this is a new challenge looking after chooks, vegie garden and keeping an eye on 26 cows whilst being aware of the electric fences and water bores. I suppose it is no big deal because Bob has it all worked out but it will keep me occupied but the benefits are enormous, I had a great meal last night and 240 volts to give me another haircut this time using the 50 mil blade then a hot shower that I didnt have to rush before it ran out. A comfortable bed is a definite plus after sleeping on assorted seat cushions that have a tendency to separate during the night.
Probably few updates in the next couple of weeks but intend to make day trips and may find places to post about, will see about that as time goes on. My Optus phone has not had reception since the 19th and made a special trip to Burnie in order to catch up with any missed messages but to no avail still no service. Am looking forward to Pattys (halfpint) arrival this afternoon, we met at Greens Lake last November to it will be good to catch up with her again.
P.S. Patty had the good idea of rebooting the phone, guess what, it can get a signal from here at the farm can't believe that I missed that John
well you certainly are having a very interesting trip John, I take my hat off to you, I am sure if you can find your way around this great country you will manage the farm with very few problems and you won't know yourself when you get your new home...............enjoy and keep on keeping on.
Yes Pauline , but did John forgot to say , that he is scared of cows, when he was there a few weeks ago a cow chased him down the padock, never seen a human being move sooooooo fast ,, John said it was a bull, but it had tits swinging between its legs......hehehehe Farmer John!!!!! ,,,,,,, if it was a bull , he might have tried to milk it ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Billeeeeeee

That is funny Billleeeee, now John there is another whole spin off series for your youtube doco. LIFE ON THE FARM FROM A CITYSLICKERS POINT OF VIEW. I am sure you will have a wow of a time there with all the girls, and have the farm in ship shape by the time the owners get back. Main thing is just keep having the best time as you have been.
Sharon.
