I was in the park when the storm arrived and have minimal damage, just a broken wind up Saturn TV aerial.

A few small dents in the Vitara.

We pulled one woman out of her well, you couldn't call it a residence it was a pile of walls and roofing panels. The 86yr old woman next door took her in and gave her tea and comforted her. Unfortunately she had a heart attack and has been airlifted to Hervey Bay hospital waiting to be taken to Brisbane.

The 86 yr old only had a new knee operation 12 weeks ago. Incredible woman.

It is an absolute miracle no-one was killed but since then the community has fought back.Tradies turning up with trucks and dozers and bobcats to help with the clean up.

SES as always just turning up and getting on with things. Ambos,Firies,Police and the CFS all helping. People from all walks of life from young teenagers to 86 yr old ladies.all doing whatever they can.

Aussie spirit to the fore.

PS

Don't call it a tornado,it was ex tropical cyclone Oswald.

The bloody insurance companies don't need an excuse to say it was a tornado so "No cover."

My heart goes out to all who have been touched by this tragedy.

And a huge thumbsup to all those wonderful volunteers.
