a few hints

When my self and wife leave the van and go bush with the Oz tent,we use a make shift shower i made up from one of those pump up garden spray bottle, just add a thicker hose and bigger nozzle and fill it with water for a pressurized shower. 9 Lts is a good amount for a good shower.

Solar garden lights make fantastic night lights and don't batteries or gas.

To stop tripping over tent or anex  pegs paint the ends in a bright fluro colour a lot easier to see and find if you need to move in a hurry during the night.

Regards Herbi.

Good ones Herbi, thanks.

With tent or pegs, tying white plastic bag bits on them is a good idea too, expecially for at night.

Some of the 4X4 shops sell a similar shower system made from a stainless spray canister with a metal extension and shower rose on the end, but they are pretty pricey, around the high $200's to $300 from memory. Your idea sounds like a great alternative Herbie...

Oh yeah, another tip... check out the hints and tips thread in the general forum for more hints and tips.
Cheers

That pressurized shower sounds like a nifty idea, Herbie. And I've often wondered about those garden solar lights, so thanks for the tip.

Lots of people use the sprayers, seen it many times on line. I bought one years ago an tried it using the supplied sprayer but didn't like it. A thicker hose might make a heap of difference.

I thought about the pressure spray type shower but decided on a bucket (which I have anyway) and a 12vlt shower set up and a sols shower bag so as to have free hot water when it is hot.....when it is not hot I can boil a kettle.......also I have noticed that after an hour or three on the road the water from the cold tap in my shower cubicle come out just warm enough to have a quick shower without any heating, if you have a shower system in place try it!

As for lighting, I love my dog walking hands free head lamps - led lights run on 3 x aaa batteries and I often use them to read with as well as they put the light just where one needs it! I just bought 2 extras in a pack at Rays' for 15.00!

I like the solar shower to heat the water and throw it in a bucket, soap up and either cup the water to rinse off or heave the bucket over me. As good as a shower in my book.

I'll use the cold water shower tap at home through the day as the water is quite hot on a warm day.
