I am looking for information regarding the road conditions Chinchilla to Port Augusta via Birdsville travelling in July 2013 please.

I really would like to do this trip, we have not done anything like this before, hubby is not keen, so I am doing the homework to see if it would be something we could do with our Toyota Hilux motorhome.

Approximately how much of the road is not sealed?

Is the road suitable for a 2wd?

Any dump points or water available along the way? We travel with full water tanks and spare water in containers but would expect to have to top up somewhere along the way.

I would appreciate some genuine info from people who have travelled through the area.
