Welcome Garnet, and sorry to hear about your wife, there are other members here who have lost partners/wives as well so you are not alone and have come to the right place.

Keep an eye on the unofficial get togethers (eg; Greens lake) as they are great places to meet up with other GN's and get to know them.

Hope you find a travel companion, even if someone with their own RV so you can travel in tandem...

Hi Garnet, its a sad thing loosing your partner and only you know when the times right to get your 'get up and go' happening again. I understand what you mean, just having someone around to talk to makes a whole lot of difference.

I'm sure not into sharing but I like the idea of tag a long. Especially meeting at camp sites at dusk (for security) to catch up on the days happenings around an evening fire where great friendships are formed.

hello and a very warm welcome Garnet. My deepest sympathies on the passing of your beloved wife.

There is a section "get togethers" on here. Have a look there.

There is a get together planned for Boynedale Bush camp near Calliope Qld in April.

If there are no get togethers near you, how bout you post on there and see if anyone is in the area.

Hope to see you in the playground.

Kind regards.

Sincere condolences on your loss, Garnet, but you're doing the right thing by seeking company, especially here on the GN forums. They're a great bunch. There are also quite a few single women here as well if you don't mind bossy ones hehe.

GaryKelly - what do you mean "bossy ones"there are some on here might take exception to thatbiggrinbiggrinbiggrinbiggrinbiggrinbiggrinbiggrinbiggrinbiggrinbiggrinbiggrinbiggrin

Sorry for hacking your post Garnet - sorry for your loss - I know what you are going through, and there is hope - I am very lucky to have met a lovely man, whom I love very much - keep posting on here, get yourself along to any gatherings that are around - meet lots of people, get out on the road, talk to people on this site, join in the forums - post where you are heading to, see if anyone is in the area for a meet up - make friends, of both sexes, who like to travel, just start - before you know it, you will have a network and like minded people, and you will have things to look forward to!!!!

Take care.smilesmile

So sorry to hear of your loss garnet and good luck finding a travelling companion.  I just acquired a 4 year old Maltese Terrior from the pound.  He does as he is told and doesn't argue with me, so the perfect companion for me.biggrin

Cheers!

Chris

Sorry to hear of your loss Garnet, I think there are many solo travellers who have lost a loved one, my darling husband was only 52 when he died last year, just goes to show you never know when life can turn upside down. I know the cmca have a solos network, I have been to one gathering of solo travellers and met some lovely people. I stress though it is not meant to be a singles group, just solo travellers who enjoy getting together for a bit of company. Good luck in your travels.

Same here for this site hokianga. We are not a dating site.
I have been told there is a cmca singles get together at the Biggenden Showgrounds about the 3rd week of April.

Yes that's right, too early in the year for me to head north, but it should be great, Garnet you should consider attending.

G'day    Sorry about your loss mate. In your travels there will be times that you long for company but there will be other times that you need to be alone and reflect

about the your life the good times and bad. Just find a quite spot in the bush preferably with a running stream and veg out with a cold one. The soothing nature of bubbling stream along with the sounds of nature all around you will lift your spirits no end.

I know where you are coming from but dont hold back when you do meet with other GN, Tell your story it is always the best medicine and best of luck in your travels, maybe we will meet up on the road, I will be in Qld early April.

Cheers and all the best and keep posting on the Nomad site it is also good medicine.

Suggestion read the post in solos re Billie and the love bug, ***g wagon it has that many names I forgotten the main name but it is Hilliriousbiggrinbiggrinbiggrinbiggrin

Cheers

Kev
