I have been led to believe that licences or permits are available from most tackle stores across Aus.Hope this helps......Alan

If you google Wuruma Dam Camping and go to the Explore Australia site it gives a link to DAFF (Department of Agriculture and fisheries).

If you have a printer you can buy online.

$7.45/week, $37.30/year, $32.40/year with concession.

cheers,

Jack

Shame you can't be there Beth, was looking forward to catching up, hope all goes well with you, Still the only positive note is that the only time we don't have to worry about our health is when we don't have any. I have the wedding on the weekend of the 20th and I now have my sister coming from W.A. on the 22nd so don't know if I can make it on the following weekend although will try.

Is there going to be anyone there on the  first weekend of May?

Cheers,

John

Thanks John. Feeling a little frustrated because I can't even go up to my sister at Tin Can Bay for some R&R. I have to wait around here for mail ie: appointments for all these things. I just have to be patient and cool my heels.

Hi Beth

Maybe we can Skype together when we there ,
But I believe there is no reception there for phone and internet
but we will know for sure when we there
we've got both Telstra and Optus to try out with

Regards John

Great idea John! I can be there in spirit.

My sister and her hubby are heading home (the long way, as we do) to Tin Can Bay from a wedding in Roma, so I suggested they go by Wuruma Dam. They'll be there this week though, as they have to be home by Friday. So if anyone is there this week, they have a white Nissan Patrol, towing an Avan, The Liam. It also has Cyalata on it...as in see you later.

Make yourself known to them if you spot them somewhere out there.

I know they're uphill. I can't ask Deb now, she's gone to bed.

Just checked in http://ozcamps.net/index.php?option=com_wrapper&Itemid=29  Flush Toilets. Take your own water in too.

Sis and bil are home now, after spending 3 nights at Wuruma Dam, on their way home from a wedding in Roma.

Deb said it was nice but quite isolated. No internet or phone. And they didn't have their fishing gear or yabby pots with them, so they were a little bored. I told her you lot won't be bored...it'll be party central!

Most of the flat areas were already taken, so they had to 'dig' in.

Lots of road damage along the way and the headwaters of the Burnett River is a mess. Just take it steady, as I'm sure you all will.

But lovely and green with lots of fat cows everywhere!

Re toilets. As long as there are toilets I don't care what they are like. I always take a good supply of toilet paper where ever I go, never know what will be there. I'm more concerned about getting a bit of flat ground to park on.

Heavy rain here at the moment, supposed to last couple of days. Hope it dries out before I head off.

The isolation won't worry me. Great when no one can get in touch with me. Will take plenty of books, knitting, puzzles etc.

Thanks for that Beth.  Been wondering what the road is like.  Not sure I won't go the long way now.

Cheers,

Sheba.
