Hi, I have heard many nomads use nappy san as an alternative to other products in their toilet cassettes. Does it work? If so how much do you use. We have a new van which only has the bottom tank.

Hi bravehearts
I have the same type of lo bottom tank only ,I use woolworths nappy treatment home brand,it is in a plastic jar screw the cap off and tip the nappy treatment in to the cap use one cap full and mix it with warm water until the crystles desolve then tip it in the holding tank, you can use more than one cap if nead be.mix with about a litre of water.
Yep - the generic brands are the way to go - bigger percentage of the active ingredient - and as others have said - either a capful every couple of days, or the same as Peter n Margaret - I don't bother mixing it with water, just tip it in, must say though works heaps better if you are driving in the vehicle, if you sit in one spot for a few days, might need to give the cassette a bit of a gentle shake to stir things up a bit - note - GENTLE shake!

We also use the Nappy san ,and when we are parked up we use one of those deoderent disks in the plastic container taped to the lid of the toilet seat. That way we do not have any smell.May not look real flash ,but only the two of us use our toilet ,so no problems.
We picked the idea up when we were touring America a few years back ,When we picked up the buy back motor home it was in there, We both thought what the Hell ,but after a few days, we thought No Smell what a fab idea. So have just continued useing them.My wife has come up with an idea to put double sided valcro onto the lid of toilet ,so might give that a go to see if they stay stuck on.
