Camping gear

Noticed today that Kmart and Bigw have some bits and pieces of cheap camping gear ..i thought the fold up table in Kmart was a ripper and the shower tent in Bigw was one of those that has the silver lining so you cannot see through it.Some do not have that.Just raced back to Kmart and brought the portable Butane cooker and a pack of Butane cartridges for under $20 all up. I have to work tomorrow and kept thinking about the stove how handy it would be for day trips to take in the 4be for a cuppa as some places we go to there is no shops around. It would be great for anyone who has a van that is not full height, save bending in the pop top (done that ) or even the Avans or camper trailers, also will be handy for us when we just take off with the tent for over night.Even if it last a few years i will have had my $20 worth from it.

Yesterday's special at Mitre 10, in Echuca:

800W max/600W continuous power, two stroke generator for $A 116.00. I just got one yesterday: It may not be exactly what I would rather prefere - as it is so - but it works great, besides being light to carry. Additional plus is that, if it breaks there'll be no drama or big los at such price...

Also, I got myself at the sam place few packs of gas cartriges. Pack of 4 = $A 4.00. It can't get much cheaper than that for the propane/butane cartriges.

We've been using our butane gas cooker while freecamping. It's been great but boiling the kettle takes a long time and we ran out of gas. Popped into the hardware at a town nearby and 4 cartridges cost us $10.75! That'll teach us for thinking we won't use much and leaving some cartridges at home (which only cost us $4.99!)
