Hey Sharon, I hope you mowed the lawn before you left my site and didn't leave any junk mail in the mail box. I will know soon and wooden spoon for you if it's a mess. I have prime real estate there you know. Not just anyone can use that site.
Wow, what an adventure you have just had, great to hear you enjoyed it and you are home safe. Now all that needs to happen is a lot of thinking and your agent to get on with the job.
It was a pleasure to catch up with you and see how happy and relaxed you where, hope we meet up again somewhere out in the playground.

And so my week of trying out the nomad lifestyle has come to an end, with much sadness on my behalf. It was very hard to hand back the keys this afternoon and resume the life of an ordinary person again. All systems are ago to sell my house and get out there full time.
Since leaving Echuca, I travelled to Greens Lake, stopping at 0'Clock, for morning tea beside a river, it was beautiful. Sat there for awhile comtemplating life and the gum trees around me, then off to Greens. There were a few people there camped so I pulled into Dougwe's site, (hope the site fees aren't too high) and set up for my first time free camping by myself. It was a bit blowy so decided I would not put out the awning, which as the night wore on I was glad about that. Set myself up, had some lunch and then went for a walk along the waters edge. It took me about 3 hours to get back to my MH, after stopping and chatting with the other campers there. Met some really lovely people all doing different things with their lives. Two lots were full time on the road, having started only 6 weeks ago. They are loving it and so far no regrets at all. Another couple were out at the Lake for a weeks break from Shepparton. They were interesting to talk too about the lake and the different things that the water is used for, and how the levels are lowered and made higher depending upon weather and irrigation needs. The next couple had had new bits and pieces added to their van so they were trying it all out before heading off on a a longer trip. They knew about the website and were silent observers of a couple of different sites. Really nice people, and once again all ready for a chat and a laugh.
The entertainment for the night came in the way of a jet ski and a boat on the lake. A chap with two alsation dogs, that were so well trained and loved to fetch the sticks from the water. They were all gone by about 7 and it was quiet again, except for the sound of the water lapping on the shore. As the night went on the wind lifted, rain fell, along with thunder and lightning. It was all good and what an introduction to free camping. I woke about 3 in the morning and watched theÃÂ light show for a bit and then the next thing I knew it was 0830, so guess there was no concerns from Sharon.
Had a bite of breakfast and then went on into Bendigo where I met up with Gollymolly for coffee, a chat and more laughter. Sue is always ready for a laugh, after a couple of hours I made my way down to Daylesford. I spent the night with friends there, and after hearing of the destruction around the state last night I was glad that i was safe and sound indoors. These people go off free camping often for short stays. They have a toyota matilda. We talked about different places they had been and different things related to the nomad lifestyle and after red wine and beer, well, I think the stories became a little longer and more fun. They were off today to Avoca for the weekend. If not having to be in Melbourne for family reasons I would have went with them.
So this morning back into Melbourne, out to Berwick and hand back the keys. I will certainly look at the relocation programme the hire company have, it will be a way of doing what I have found that I love until I am set up permnantly myself. So now back within four walls, it is all nice but I would much rather be looking out that window at the black tar rolling on by.
Til next time, that is my story for now. Take care all, enjoy yourselves to the max and travel safe.
Have walked the shores of Greens Lake myself .. most relaxing Sharon .. I'm the only one I know of the GN's that's actually walked all the way around the lake .. that took a bit longer !
It's in your system now though .. you've got the gypsy syndrome like the rest of us !
I have check the site and its in better condition than you left it. Every blade of grass is sitting the same way all polished with Mr Sheen and she has planted some flowers.

Sorry again Sharron but all these naughty people are going of topic and wombat is AWOL, again.
Yes Rod, Gene (Yes Gene is the spelling of her name) is still chained up, actually to the back step but I will let her loose tomorrow as we head off Monday morning, she better behave though.
Back on topic Sharon.

Good luck for a quick sale of your house, Sharon, glad the experience worked out well and you are keen to tale up the good life! Hope to meet on the road one day!
Great to read your report, Sharon, and to know what a wonderful time you had - and especially to know that it's just a taste of what's to come. I have a bunch of loose ends to tie up before I hit the road, dammit. But any fears I used to have about taking the plunge have certainly been dispelled by your "diary".

Well done Sharon, now you've got the bug there will be no stopping you!
Jon, I think Yeoeleven may have walked it too, but you would have to check his blog to be sure, I haven't done that but seems to ring a bell.
Thanks all for your kind words and thoughts. It is going to be so hard to go home again. Have not got there yet, spending time with my son and daughter in law in Melbourne until tomorrow. Home to move the agent or somebody so I can hit the road again. Doug you make sure that genie is well looked after this trip and those ties are not too tight. Poor girl. Have a great time at Greens. It is going to be busy over Easter so mark your spot well.
Take care all, Safe travels, Sharon.

Have done Sharon, you looked after it well for me, thanks. I am a bit of course though as I am about 24 inches closer to the ramp. Does that count as unchartered land?

Well Doug as they say a change is as good as a holiday so unchartered waters it is for you. One can never become bored from moving around, so boring staying in the same place time after time.
