Travelled from Temora this morning.  Found some good sites but no signal at any.

I am about 5ks out of Grenfell on a bush track.

Will have to get the jockey wheel re-welded.   it is not right.

Wiil need  to un-load the entire trailer in order to get the trailer back onto the camper as the towbar is on the ground.  it slipped off the jack before i could get the jockey wheel in place......... bugger!!!

Gday...

You may be able to use the vehicle jack to lift the towbar on the trailer sufficiently to allow you to reconnect it to the vehicle.

However, make sure the wheels of the trailer are chocked both front and rear to ensure it does not move while jacking it and use something solid to provide a bit of 'support' for the base of the jack.

Think it through and it should work for you.

A high lift jack, such as the Kanga jack I have had for years is great for lifting heavy loads from the ground to about 1 m in hieght.I have 3 trailers, and thet are a necessary evil.I have an inverter welder and wish I was there to help.Take it easy, Bill

i think i definately need a better jack even if/when this jocky wheel is fixed.

would you believe there isn't a rock in sight here for 1/2 a mile.   Using wood to chock the wheels and will take some of the weight out before i attempt this.   Tie the dog up so i don't have to worry about her and have a go   LOL

 Come tag-a-long with me and you will learn and get lots of pics as well   LOL

I have been in tighter spots before.    Main thing is don't panic.   THINK about how to do it first before rushing in and keep all body parts out of the way in case it falls.

It is always best to have TWO jacks as you can slowly raise using one jack and then the other..

This is where jack stands come in as well but you need the space to carry something that may not be used for years on end.

Glad you found a way around it. Often slowly does it bit by bit and you got there.
