RE: A challenge to solos

Have scrolled through this thread to see if many "not posted before" members have now posted. Maybe one or two have. C'mon, get in here and write something.
I have also at times gone through the list of members. You would be surprised how many there are who have never posted.

I think I would take my older son with me on a trip around Aus. He just needs a push to get out there and stop sitting in the past feeling sorry for himself. Although he has travelled widely in the past and acted as a tour guide at Alice Springs/ Ayres Rock quite some years ago, he is now stuck in the mud after a relationship breakdown and needs to be shown the way. Maybe I should take the Dalai Lama as well to help him see the happy side of life.

i do wonder is the reason some people have not posted for a long period is maybe they have passed way / or have just lost interest in the travelling side of things , peoples life styles change for different reasons. So a lot of people who have joined on this site , they are probably just a name and number now. That is why on a few other sites i am a member on the rule is if no post inside of 12months ,you are deleted. You are free to re join again if the need ever returns that you want to use the site. It works very well as it keeps the site active and alive. Just not a lot of mumbers and names to make the site look like half the country is useing it. ..Just my thoughts on this subject.

You get people who say i have nothing to say ,,I ask WHY ??...

Probably right there about people moving on in one way or another herbie - but I like that fact that I can be away for a long time, and then come back on without having to re register etc. And we are a very small forum really - compared to some I have read, and hopefully a very friendly one at that.

And you are right - everyone has something to say - a lovely place you have been, a good camp spot - a handy hint, road condition, recipe - an opinion on a post you read - just start, and it all flows from there, I reckon.

My way of thinking is life is like a book , just turn one page a day,and learn as we travel down the road, to the next unexpected experiance .

I'm sure the people who don't post still get lots of information and enjoyment from reading the forum.

Ditto Maggie. The Dalai Lama would be a wonderful travelling companion, and would help keep me where I need to be. In the here and now.

The Dalai lama would be a good travelling comanion for enlightment etc. but gee it'd be hard work dodging the insects and butterflies.

I have just spent a month under the stars - the lazy way. I had a 28 day cruise around Australia on the Dawn Princess. Now I am getting the camper serviced and hope to get away again for a few weeks. Thanks to all, new or experienced who took up my challenge. I've just read the posts from beginning to end. I had thought the current travellers were interesting. With your potential guests, it would add to the excitement! Welcome to our new 'posters'. Monica

I agree.
Solo is the way to go.
Never an argument and if there was I will win them all.
Can never understand some couples who fight all the time yet they stay together. Life is too short for that.
If the spark is still there then good but for me I tried three times and failed three times so not again.
Regards
Brian

On a more serious note, I'd love to travel with Liz and Phil. Oh, excuse me, more correctly, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip.
I think they'd have many behind the scenes, and behind the hands stories about their travels, the things people did to impress them, and what didn't.
I see them as ordinary people with a job to do and a role to play, and they do it with dignity and grace. But sometimes I see a glint in his, and her eye, and I'd like to know what caused the glint.
