Good to see you are still making plans while trying to keep warm down there. I'm heading down that way in late June, will call in if I can find my way to where you are staying.
I can use it while i am here and then save for the van and get it when i have to leave
Dawa
A very good move Dawa, every good women needs a beaut ute, you could even go to the Denny ute muster, it is not all that far from where you are based is it ??
Dawa - if you go the ute and caravan way - maybe a reversing camera, pointing at the tow ball area might be a help. You can get them quite cheaply nowadays - there is also the other thing some people use - think it is called a trailer mate - as long as you are level, you back up close to the trailer and the trailer mate sort of guides you onto the ball - can be seen if you google "trailer mate" I think. Not too expensive. I had one for my caravan, made life easier.

I wasn't even thinking about backing onto the ball that is another PITA but lifting the mechanism while winding down the jockey wheel throws my back out every time.

Settled in here for winter too and not far from Ballarat
Three more months of misery, but the fire is going pretty much 24/7 so not too bad. Currently working full time for the next couple of weeks, then sporadic shifts here and there which help keep the dream alive.
Just had a beautiful week-end with some like-minded Kombi travellers at Laanecoorie (Vic) and couldn't have picked a better week-end. Won't whinge about my drunken friend who kind of spoiled it a bit for me. Might have to leave her at home next time
