Plodnalong gets to Darwin

After working for 3 months in Cobram, Victoria, the work ran out and it got cold so I've run up the middle to Darwin. A great trip that has taken me a month. The heat and humidity here is staggering but at least there are not the flies of Coober Pedy.

The West Macs were awesome (I'm saving Uluru for a friend). If you have seen me on the way or are up here at the moment please add a comment. Anyone who has suggestions for work here or a campground that charges by the person rather than the site (you solos know what I mean) will get a huge hug or a cold beer or both if you can help.
What a great drive it is through the centre, eh?

And the pub at Daly Waters on a rodeo weekend was awesome.

Well done Andy, you have travelled many kms since our couple of days at Dawson River. I stayed at Hidden Valley CP whilst in Darwin but it was only a couple of nights.

I am sooo jealous.....I want to be back in Darwin!........if you have plans to stay up that way a bit keep an eye out for care taker situations, advertised in The NT News and depending on your line of work you may find work and a place to camp at the same place.

The trip up the middle is a good one, whilst I was living up there for 8 years I came down to catch up with friends etc every 2nd year and the drive up and down never failed to keep me enthralled.

The old Daly Waters pub is a great camp site, last time I was there I hard a yarn with a bloke in a jayco motorhome who was staying there for 3-4 months, he went up to Katherine once a month to get his supplies and was set up with solar and a gennie and so his camping fees were very low, and he picked up some paid work at the camp ground cleaning up the rubbish and stuff like that, he was as happy as !

Enjoy!

Annie
