At long last I left Hay after filling up the Coaster with petrol set off aiming to get to Forbes where I had camped previously. 366kms later I arrived during the afternoon and found a good spot just on the lake. http://yeoeleven.blogspot.com.au/2012/10/forbes-by-lake.html
The Coaster performed well never missing a beat with no tendencies toward overheating sitting on between 70 & 80kph. I have decided to make this a quick trip back to Queensland using overnight stopovers and not setting up for camping expecting to be on the Gold Coast by the weekend.
Walked up to and round the shopping centre looking for replacement led lights for the downlights, the ones fitted are halogen and very bright but use 5 watts compared with a fraction of a watt for the led. I was also looking for an auto shop to find a guage to plug into a lighter socket to read the battery usage but missed out on both.
Was interested to read the battery levels during and at the end of the trip, by the time I reached Forbes I had separated the driving batteries and the main one was reading over 13 volts and the second one was isolated at 12.6 volts wheras the house batteries had little sun but had run the fridge and showed up at just 12 volts. I had charged up the laptop during the trip from the van batteries and was able to recharge from there later. John
Geee John, we must have just missed each other, I came through there Monday. I am currently in Inverell until Thursday then heading to Townsville, the way I go is not decided just yet. Good to read the coaster is going well for you mate.

Having been on the road full time for a couple of years last night was the first time that I have had anything stolen.
I left out a rickety old table with the equally old whistling kettle and this morning they were gone. This is an open campsite with a public pathway running through around the lake so anyone can walk through, I trust campers but the general public apparently are not so trustworthy.
Mongrels John - not the item itself being stolen, but the principal of the whole thing - fancy stealing something like that - probably just dumped it somewhere anyway, maybe in the lake!!

What bad luck John. Is that the park and lake where the plane is and water fountain out in the lake ?
It is the same lake but a different part, the plane and fountain are on and to the right of the highway going north but the free camp is near the next bridge the single way one.

Probably being used around a campfire now John being used by the locals.
My bil Nick from Denmark (who you have met) had his chairs and table stolen from outside his bus at an open caravan park (no fences) at Busselton.
I'm rather surprised to hear that happened in Forbes John. Was there a few years ago and found it a lovely little town. Friendly too. One of those places I could have settled down in my twilight years!
