Seeking Work on the Road

Hello all.

Currently on the south east coast in the Mallacoota, Eden, Bega area.  Having a great time seeing places new to me.  The old bank balance is showing signs of wear and tear so I am looking for some paid work.  Anyone out there know of anyone and/or businesses in the area that need the services of a well experienced, skilled and flexible grey nomad who is prepared to learn new stuff please let me know.  BTW if you are looking for a beautiful spot to relax then I can recommend Mallacoota.  Top spot.

Cheers

Wayne

Everyone says there's heaps of work out there. I've knocked on the doors and there's not. Unless you have all the licences and tickets and cards.

Have you check the work available on this website? May not pay a lot but I find to sit somewhere for a week or month makes a huge difference to the bank balance. I am volunteering at Pine Creek museum atm - free power and water, toilet, and walk across the lines to work! There are paid positions available. Try the local paper.

Talk to the locals.. if you are in a caravan park they are often looking for extra workers in the busy season (which in Victoria is over summer) or they may know of somebody else looking for temporary help.

Thanks for all the advice there folks.

I am now in Merimbula, beautiful place.   Drove into the caravan park and the receptionist saw the sign I have on the back window of the van and suggested I might like to talk to the park manager as he is currently renovating 4 on site cabins.  Hey presto I now have at least a weeks paid work!!!  Have also done some volunteer work since I made my first post and as spida said a week somewhere with free accommodation and meals makes a big difference to the bank balance and, it never rains but it pours, I have an "job interview" next week for a contract job.   So things a looking up (at the moment says he with everything crossed).

Cheers

Wayne
