I always thought that freezing point is just that. 0C

I should add that this is for water. Other materials have different freezing temps.

Does it really matter what brand ,anyhow it is a Bushman 52 litre.

-18c is the recommendation for domestic freezers. A lot of vanners use -4c to conserve batteries. I'd think the longevity of the frozen product would be compromised at this temp.

 Sorry Lance, from your post I "assumed" you were referring to the numbers marked on the control dial of the fridge. In which case it would make a difference.. As for the freezing point, for water it's 0 deg C....
