Glad your having a good time Loki, just off the main street of Albany is the old gaol, park there and have a look at the gaol, then walk thru to the Art Gallery and do a tour of the Brig Amity replica for a gold coin donation well worth it, they give you a little hand held speaker and you press the numbered buttons that correspond with numbers marked inside various locations in the ship telling you all aboat it, see;

From memory I think they said the ship carried 60 odd people, how they heck they did it in such cramped conditions is beyond me.

If you have the money (not cheap but worth it) the defunct Whaling Station is worth a look too, an actual surviving whaler is on display and can be walked on/through among other attractions there including whaling museum and movies etc.

Rolled into Albany from the Stirling Ranges on Wed.  Spent Wed. &  Thurs. nights at Cozy Corner, as the forecast wasn't good cry but Cozy Corner certainly was - protected, beautiful beach and good fishing, if you can get a line out.  There is some sort of rally in Albany over the long w/e so I booked into a caravan park for a couple of nights and tomorrow I'll check it out as well as the forts & view from Mount Clarence.   I'll then head slightly east to Waychinicup NP before continuing west.

The CP is full for the long w/e and there are young campers either side of me as well as behind - after the solitude of quieter stops the activity is a change but I'll be glad to get back into Nomad Country!

Heading west from Albany??? So you are not going over the top to Brisbane now? I am still in Pine Creek - will go to Katherine Wednesday to see the Kiwis for a few days then heading to WA.

Hi Anton,

had  a good time in that area myself, Cosy Corner is an excellent free camp. Had 2 visits there the second time with Vic and we both enjoyed the camp.

Went to Cosy Corner in your home state and enjoyed that visit too.

Very close to Cosy Corner is Shelley Beach, a DEC camping area and para gliding area, small fee does apply, see this link, the camp can be seen down below near the beach from the hang gliding take off point, a very picturesque camping ground, it is in Camps 7;

Did you know there is another Cosy Corner in WA?  Not a camping ground but a nudist beach in the Southwest, see;

Hi Anton Really enjoyed reading your Travells.Hope you are having a great time .Where are you now?Have you caught any Fish as yet.Hows the Weather over there.Im at my Sons place at Surfers and the Weather has been ok.Have been having rain on and off.At the moment I am getting my Van Spray Painted So really excited about that.Its a old Girl but I just love it.You sure do lots of walking from what I have read.Hope you dont mind me writing to you.I hope to tyake off to Tassie at the end of the year with a friend.She has just come back from there and loves it.I see you are from Tassie How long are you going to be over here?Roughly that is as we dont make Plans when we are on the road fulltime.Looking forward to hearing from you Enjoy !Take care Sandy
