Never had a problem in 18000 kms round trip!
7 pin round.
Never sprayed, cleaned or found any dirt or gunk in connectors.
Is your connection loose fitting?
Just gets a bit gunked up from time to time with red dust.
The post wasn't so much seeking help or advice, just passing on a little tip and reminding folk to carry out a little check every now and then, that's all!!

Another tip is to check all trailer lights simultaneously. This can show up faults that aren't as obvious when checking individually, especially faulty earth wiring, a common cause of problems with trailer wiring.

Absolutely right, the wife reckons when I do a light check it's like "Las Vegas" strip at the back of the caravan!! I do it to confuse her really, but she's too smart and all I ever get back is a "Roger Beep" on the two way!!
