Is your boat fitting on the canopy or does it go over the roof a bit, asking as your canopy is lower than the roof and not sure if you know, but there are no such thing as roof racks for these things yet. We had to get ours specially engineered by a private engineer for our boat on the roof which extends to the tray.
Just think of the ammount of gear you can cart now. Bet your happy with that. They have done a nice job.

You are so right, the canopy is a little lower than the top of the cab.
The reasons why;
My carports have a sloping roof line accross the driveway, there was not a lot of clearence between the top of the cab & the large exposed timber beams that form the carport structure.
With the canopy being wider than the cab at the top, & the rear of the truck being a bit higher than the front I had to make allowances for this so as to clear the carport roof.My boat has a 1820 beam, the full width of the canopy is 2mtr so no tapper in with the sides.
This difference between the canopy top & cab height will allow me to make & fit my boat rack mounting points to the top of canopy & they will remain in place& still have acces to the carport. The rack it self will be a fit on when travelling & removed when home & again to fit into the carport.
I am building my own side loader to fit ontop of the canopy. The tray length is 3.3mtr, canopy is 2.4mtr leaving 900mm at the rear for my boat trailer & outboard motor which will be covered by the boat when loaded. As my boat is a 3.99 mtr ; the transome will be flush with the end of the tray, & there will be 600mm over the rear of the cab.
The boat has front & rear grab/side rails therefore the rack has to be 250m above the canopy to clear the truck cab.thus the removal of when home, this will be simple just by removing two pins.
Sounds complicated but not realy, bit hard puting it into words. Hopefully the next lot of pics will show all.I bought all the steel this arvo for the loader & rack .cost me much less than one Rhino roof bar
A new UHF, ant,plus a phone ant all arrived this morning, only ordered them sunday night from Bairnsdale, vic. Not bad .

. Our boat sits on the roof the same as it would on a patrol ect. About 1/2 metre each end hangs over the end of the racks, but the rack takes all the weight evenly. Rack goes from 40 cm infront of windscreen roof level and extends back 70 cms past the dual cab. Fully fixed on a big roll bar at back of cab and fixed to the roof as well as support struts at rear of cab. We had a special polished frame designed and built to go on the roof. Its 2.5m and 1.8m wide and is 4 inches above the roof height to allow for air flow.
Looks pretty mean up sitting up there pearched on the roof, but functional. With the fifth wheeler needing a large space at the back it was our only option, cant leave the boat behind. Our boat on,y weighs 60kg. We have two bikes also at back of cab which sit under the rear of the boat.
Will have to get some pics.
We have a slightly diff way to get our boat on and off. We throw it up on the tray, drop sides down first, then from there we stick the nose of the boat up on the rack and get behind and push it up then tie it all down. Worked well so far the only time we did it. It will stay there until we take it off to go fishing. ( could be a while, but gives good roof protection from those big hail stones up north). We might look at loaders later on when we can no longer cope with it by hand. But we realy only lift it a few feet to the tray, then a few more feet to the roof.

Must be time for some photo's. I built my rack today today, will fit winch mount tomorrow & maybe even get rack mounted over the weekend.
No hope of lifting this boat on, bare hull was 110kg, + low level floor, storage pockets along both sides & a casting deck up front.
Then add three folding seats, electrics, 2 bilge pumps,plus we leave life jackets, spray coats etc in the lockers.

Sorry about pics, was going to do them today but weather was foul. Will do them tomorrow if it dosnt pour rain.
Wow 100+ kgs, yep that would be too heavy to lift. We have a maco topper tracker. Has two fold down seats but we take them out to travel. Once we get where the fish are we put it all together on the trailer and camp there a few weeks. ( if the fishing is good).
We are stuck in Maryborough Vic at the moment waiting for our fifth wheeler to be finished. Worked out ok though, close to two big towns which we used to get the truck built and the fifth wheeler is a month over due already so who knows how much longer. Im ready to move on.

i was just wonderin how it would go on grass areas but then again rod does ok dont he not knocking it m8 just havin a rethink
Hey Graeme, yes the winch has a ratchet lock each way & the systen is for lifting the outboard & boat trailer onto the tray.
This unit has the electronic stability control fitted, including hill start assist.
Time will tell how the stability control works, but the hill start means when you take your foot off the brakes to start off the brakes are held on for a further three seconds , stops rollback.
Can also turn the stability off if you wish.

Jim & Leonie that looks absolutely amazing, i agree with Graeme i reckon leonie and i should
just climb on board and take off (without you men ) ,we could fit a blow up air bed into that
cabin and off we go.
Seriously that looks fantastic, i just cannot wait to sell our business and go someplace with you
guys ,im yet to start making damper again ,was thinking about having a go at it soon in the yard
on some coals.
