Gold prospecting in Clermont


Hi, I accidently posted on General forum this same posting, but it doesn't really matter, Here I am in Clermont intending to do some prospecting with my detector,  I am travelling alone and would like some like minded person to help me with a bit of knowledge on detecting. Any one out there???

I was out Clermont way in July escorting something big from Mackay to Blair Athol Coal Mine. It's been closed for a few years, but it looks like they might be going to reopen it. I love that country.
I don't know much about gold out there, but it's certainly the gemstone capital out that way. I have a lovely sapphire from Rubyvale.

I stayed at the dam for 7 weeks recently but did not find any gold
There is some talk that an Indian co has purchased the mine and they are still building anothe 50 + units so maybe the rumour is correct
