Exactly a month since the last on, seems a lot longer & it has taken longer than expected as I was doing too much & the old back injuries & arthritus didnt like what I was doing to them & in return I didnt like their response either so a mutual agreement to slow down a bit.LOL
Well, we are at a point where it can now be used, the only main item to go will be a water tank a little further down the track.
Had the windows tinted yesterday, now working out the loading of items in a user friendly system.

Pretty well all went to plan, all the wiring & acc. work first time so was pleased with that.
WOW most IMPRESSIVE, You must be pretty keen to take it out on a shake down run, when do you head off?
We hit the road again (at long last) on Tuesday, first night will be at Minyip, then Hay, then up to Wyalong etc heading up to have a look at Lightning Ridge then down to Tenterfield and over to Clunes then futher on to Kempsey to hopefully catch up with you know who should he and she be home and not out on the road testing a new rig Looking forward to catching up.

That looks great, all the storage, and a special place for all the awkward to carry bits, really well thought out.
I notice you have a Plasmatronics PL20 there Jim, but I can not see where you have any solar. Are you using it with solar, or for another purpose?
The PL20, yes solar.
I have three x 120watt portable panels, far more input from a portable verses a fixed. In saying that I do have a 135watt fixed on top of the van which generaly looks after the van ok, weather permitting.
However I do like to have a versatile system, when I wired the fixed unit on the van I ran the circuit out along the a-frame to the coupling & fitted a anderson plug joiner, then back to the PL20 in the van. This allows me to disconnect the panel fron the van & connect to the tug when shopping/ sight seeing etc to charge fridge batteries when parked.
I have setup the new tug with a connection point near the batteries for the portable solar to be pluged in when camping, also houses a 12volt output, a battery isolater switch & saftey switches mounted on the rear of same panel.
This system alows me to connect upto three panels into which ever battery systen needs the most charge, often one will do on a good day, two if using more power & the third when its overcast etc. Mix & match as required, very happy with myway of doing it & works very well.
If the weather is favourable then we are self sufficient.

There are two reds & one black covers, bit hard to see the second red.
The anderson from the rear doubbles into this anderson & onto the PL20, the 2nd is a 12volt out, lights,portable water pump etc.
Rear anderson plug. Can also plug the portables into here if needed to be on otherside of vehicle.

I am planning a van with a need for a good few amp hours every day, mainly for the big Vitrifrigo fridge, and the Fujitsu split system reverse cycle air conditioner (I know we are soft), thus am planning 1000W of solar on the roof using the new light weight panels, these will feed in through a large MPPT controller into a 200Ah 24V Lithium battery.
I also recognise that the efficiency of panels flat on the roof is compromised, and plan to have a couple of 100w free standing panels set up with a sun tracking device. This little device will not be sophisticated, just a simple micro controller, a couple of light dependent resisters, and a couple of motors and wheels from a toy robot. Basically I will hang one end of the panel from a stake, sit the other end on the tracker, and let it rotate around the stake to point at the sun.
I plan to feed the input in through another much smaller MPPT controller I already have (bought it some time ago to test mppt concept).
All of this is additional to the 12V system that comes standard in the van.
I think it is all worked out, all I need to do now is make it happen.
