Now that I think about it, I never asked my parents for anything. We were grateful for what we received, and knew better than to ask for more.

It continues to amuse (annoy?) me that parents complain bitterly to the media and the phone companies because their dear liddle darlings aged 10 to 14 use their iPad/iPhone/iWhatever it is called and run up a big bill, misuse social media, get sucked into dubious relationships, become prey to naughty people who con them, send/receive rudie 'selfies' etc etc.

A) who bought the damned thing;

B) do they really NEED such a flash harry device at that age;

C) who provided all the other electronic 'must haves' in their rooms.

I have no sympathy for these parents. And then they (me included) whinge that kids today just want, want, want everything NOW! Who created this NEED?

[Crawling back into my grumpy old man hole now cry]

Some people shouldn't be allowed to be parents ,just like some people should never be allowed to own an animal.
