Just so happened I know this person (Johanna) who is a live kidney donor, also a donor family member (her deceased son had his organs donated on death). A very lovely person. I have suggested she place an addy on the GN website and also join the forum.
Jenny (Johanna) was a member of a living donor group I founded and ran at one time (I am also a live kidney donor).

Edit: Bear in mind that a Red value would be for a van only, it would not reflect the cost of conversion, eg; the pop top roof would have cost about $5,000 on its own and then while not a complete conversion it does have sink, cupboards etc.
This is really good value for the price!
PS: I'll try to find out how the roof goes up Sheba, you are probably right, thanks!

There is a pop top caravan about the same size as Beth's in one of the side streets in Biggenden. It is parked outside the owners home with the pop top up and a for sale sign saying $6,000. Looked in really good condition.

Jenny says it was an electric lifter, I would guess 12/240V. It was fitted by Dove campers but was not cheap apparently.

No worries Sheba, having dealt with Dove a number of times and knowing the manager pretty well, he would not have ripped her off woman or not, it would depend on how much he had to pay for the particular unit, it doesn't sound like air bags.

I am hoping Jenny will come on here soon and maybe explain exactly what it is/was and how expensive it was.

PS: SWMBO who is female and has also used them for her campervan too and was not ripped off.

Would pressing a button mean it's electric ? That's all you have to do with the Airlifters. I'm wondering how much they charged her Vic. These are only around the Thousand Dollar mark, fitted. Even less if you install it yourself. I wouldn't call that expensive for the job it does.

Just wondering why she has that wire screen closing off the cabin.

Looks like there would be enough room to walk through, especially in wet weather.

I think it may have been an ex commercial vehicle Ginger, probably a government vehicle as it has very low kms. They put the screens (cargo barriers) in commercial vans to protect the driver from items flying forward in cases of heavy braking, accidents etc. I'm not sure if the cab is a two seater or 3 seater (passenger bench seat instead of a single). If it is a two seater, the wire screen can easily be removed to give access.

Until Jenny posts on here, if anyone would like to contact her about the van they can send me a pm with some contact details and I will pass them on. She was saying she may put in on the GN For Sale WA section on the main website page, don't think she has done it yet, I passed on Cindy's contact details to her if she wishes to do this.

I just had another look at the photos. I think there would be enough room to squeeze through the seats into the cabin. If it were me I would be incline to take that screen out, it would make the van look so much bigger, which would make it sell better.

My son bought a second hand Government Pajero and it had a cargo barrier which was held in place with screws. He took it out and you would not believe the difference it has made to the look of the vehicle. Also that screen weighed a hell of a lot, thinking of the extra weight and fuel economy.

Jenny has a couple of big dogs Ginger, so it is probably to keep them in the back while driving. There is a photo of them in the addy link on the first post.

She has joined the forum but is flat out selling her house and other matters so may not post for awhile, but I will pass it on, good points though.

Yes that sounds like a good suggestion Ginger is it is feasible. I have only seen the photo's like you have so not sure how it attaches to the bed etc. Here is an extract of Jenny's reply to me about her cargo barrier;

"That barrier is great! I made nice hooks and I use it to hang all sorts of stuff, like torches, scissors, string ,reading glasses. tea towel,etc. I wouldn't be without it for anything.

The bed is sort of stuck on the barrier and i use it to haul myself up. Great invention if you know the uses for it."
