Mandooran North East of Dubbo

After a long drive I have arrived at Mandooran Camps6 #443, I went via Scone across to the Golden Highway. This is an excellent camp on the river and walking distance from the town. Flushing toilets and cold showers with drinking water freely available, unfortunately the flies like it too and I have seen several campers walking about with those hats with fly screen hanging from the brim. I will have to try to find mine I last used it in Esperance way back in 2011.

After fleeing the heat at Isisford I have now succeeded in getting cold, last night the barometer read 0 degrees and I dug out my long johns from the winter box. This morning I wore my jeans and Adidas hoody the sleeping bag has been pulled out of storage and spread across the doona. Not that I am complaining there are steps that can be taken to warm up but without airconditioning it is very hard to get relief from 40+ degrees. Will be here tonight and tomorrow so there could be an update.   John
Edited to add the fly hat pic. seeing the Hi Ace brings back lots of memories.

Looks like you have found another good spot there John, oh, and another backpacker. French or German, mate.

I wish, Christine is my friend Ollie's wife taken when we were all in Esperance together. The flies were murder at cape Le Grand.

Hello John
Have stayed there a few times and the locals love us to stay as long as we like
Big area and mostly level with toilets and town water

And another spot to have a look at John. Keep posting, actually we could just keep tracking your travels. Maybe that could be a sideline for you offering tours of all the free camps you have been to.
