Green Bank near Yarrawonga

Set off early and made it down to Victoria by mid day, joined the Hume before Albury and left it for the Yarrawonga turnoff after Wodonga. Quite an experience all that 2 lane highway, I must admit that it was an easy drive my speed was clocked at 84kph when all were passing me in an 110kph zone.

Big problems my card as declined for lack of funds when I bought petrol in Wagga Wagga at a time when I expected there to be a $190 balance. Used the ATM and found a balance of $20 so between that and the cash I had was fortunate to pay the bill. Still don't know how it happened but the deduction came yesterday and was only recorded as unavailable funds. Of course it is the weekend and the bank is unavailable. I have arrived at my destination with sufficient food for days and won't need petrol till I move.........................Pay day Tuesday but will get on to it first thing tomorrow.

Green Bank is aptly named on the mighty Murray and I am camped on the river's edge. It is called Green Bank in the Murray River Reserve Camps6 #294 Vic. The camp is along around a couple of kms of river bank and if you follow the track you will come out at a day only area where there are drop toilets, so I camped nearby. There are quite a few camped here but well spread out, not grouped which makes for socializing. There is a boat ramp in the day area. John

Sunday night and even more unusual I have checked the account balance on line and now have $58.

Before it was zero and now $58 so there are some irregularities and still funds unaccounted for. If the $58 had been in the account previously the transaction would not have been declined. Not a happy chappie. John

Was given some information from a lady at Bundarra about making a shrimp trap and last night I made one and to my surprise this morning I have 5 shrimps. How exciting I now have bait and intend to fish the Murray with my 5 shrimps and possibly even more 'cos I have put the trap out again. The recommended bait in the trap is dog biscuits but not having any found out that a crust works as well. The recommended bottle is the 2 litre juice but I have found that the 2.4 litre works better and gives more room under the neck when assembled.  John

Hi John would be nice if you could add a photo of the finished trap.
Not sure on the long and short sides LOL.
Glad you are now in Victoria and soon to be at Greens.
Not sure if they have organised the jet skis for you but if not just get Billeeeeeee to put out the call and all will be fixed.
Regards
Brian

No Triple333 my account is with Bendigo.

Oops found out that no one is allowed to fish this section of the Murray until the first of December, too late I used up the 5 shrimps and did get good nibbles but no fish were landed, pulled out my trap didn't want any more shrimps.  John

Got to the bottom of my declined card hassles by going into the Bendigo Bank in Shepparton.

It appears that the card was automatically debited for 2 transactions but the amount was not taken from the debit allowing them to be still reducing my available funds.

Don't want that to happen again, very stressful, how would it have been if I hadn't got some cash available?

All good now.  John

That's why I always carry two cards.
