We are in the process of joining the GN's and are trying to decide between a 5th wheeler and regular van. I'm attracted to the Winjana or Venturevan for the road handling and ease of maneuvering but wife is not sure about sleeping access. Ford Ranger is possibly the tug of choice at present but we could be persuaded otherwise by strong views from anyone else.
If you have any thoughts on why you chose a 5th W and the Winjana in particular, I would love to hear your views.
Bob, one thing you may want to consider if you intend getting a 5th wheeler and want to use a Ford Ranger or Mazda BT50 as a tow vehicle is the height of the tray. You may require a lift kit on the 5th wheeler to raise it and this will likely add to the cost of the unit. I have a Cutloose 5th wheeler and a 2012 Isuzu Dmax and no lift kit was required. Very happy with our rig and the towing stability is great. Good luck with your endeavours and when you get your rig, enjoy the hell out of it.
We did a lot of research & chose the 5th W for the handling & manoeuvring capability. Winjana as it was 'local' in Toowoomba and also they do a version which has the bed down at floor level the the goose neck area for storage. So far we have found it very comfortable with oodles of space.
Andrew Brennan at Winjana is a great guy & super helpful!
