Had the best birthday at Greens Lake, all the ladies pitched in and supplied first nibblies then a full cooked meal, quite an achievement because there were over 20 present. We started around 3pm and a few hardy souls broke up at 9.30pm. My thanks go out to all who contributed and attended.
George dug out the fire pit and we had a fire that was not blown around as much as previously. I was too full to have jaffles but that didnt stop Billeee from having one. Tried out the billy that Michael gave me it is very flash with a filtered spout and handle, it was shiny but now looks black.
Had visitors from way back in Rollingstone last year when Jan and Wayne called in, it was good to catch up and offer them the courtesy that they gave me when inviting me to join their happy hour. Travellers from all walks of life with very different rigs make up the grey nomad congregation and as today all fitted in very well with good humour and friendliness.
Julie produced a fine birthday cake with two sevens across the top and at the end of the evening I was given the leftovers foil wrapped for later. Cant say that I have had a better birthday although last years was excellent too, much more fun and happiness than previous gatherings in an other life.
After I cut the cake and the traditional birthday song was sung I had to kiss the first lady that I saw so I closed my eyes and rotated, Alice was the unlucky recipient. All good fun with appropriate music emanating from Billeees van made the day one for me to remember. John
Happy birthday and what a milestone to have reached, glad all assisted and made your day/night very special, in one of the photos it looks like your glass of Muscat appears empty, was it?
