As you would expect Billeee beat me to the post but it is here anyway.
One thing that is consistent at Greens Lake is the wind, last year my shower tent was blown over and this year it took another beating but has survived I think it is more about flexibility than strength.
That is all in the past now and we have a beautiful wind free day now that the rain has also disappeared. We have had a good happy hour followed by an open fire, a young galah has been nurtured by Kevin and Kim it was unable to fly and over a few days it seems to have got the message and flown away.
Today is Saturday and after cleaning the chainsaw put to good use last night when Billeee dragged a substantial branch back to the fireplace, Richard came over and offered to take Billeee and myself out on the inflated arm chair to be dragged behind his speed boat. All systems go and we got onto the chair and Richard took off at what seemed to me a great speed and after being dragged around and across the wake for ages we were finally deposited back at the camp. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience equating it with the ride on the biscuit last year.I was hoping for a ride between two young ladies but had to settle for a close ride with Billeee.
I have been fortunate that within our group of grey nomads there is a wealth of experience and what seems to be an endless supply of tools, Kevin spent some time checking out the points and re timing the bus and Darryl had soldered a lug onto a battery lead and is going to put a battery master switch so that I can charge all my batteries if need be and I am travelling in rainy weather. Rod helped me to put the chainsaw back together after cleaning it. Brian advised me on how to fix a small dribble through the top of the rear window with colorless nail varnish it even comes with a small paint brush. John
Colorless nail varnish? I have a bottle of nail varnish remover cos someone told me it's good for removing something... but I can't remember what it removed. And no, it wasn't nail varnish. Oh yes, I remember now... I had super glue all over my fingers. As to shower tents blowing down, I can see why you secure it with pegs. I'll also have my porta potti in mine and the last thing I need is to have the tent head skywards while I'm 'busy'.
Thanks for posting the photos, John. Looks like you're having the time of your life at Greens.
