For those familiar with Greens Lake, I see that the Corop Store is to reopen with new entrepreneurs. I wish them luck in their new venture, however, I feel they are doomed to failure, as previous operators. According to the FB posts, it seems they are being spurred on by the belief that campers will sust...

Finally got back to Greens Lake today. Anyone else here?

Not the Forum it once used to be.

I see on FB that Greens was quite busy this Easter with a good turnout. Were any Grey Nomads there?

Dick0 · Dick0

I recall when Greens Lake was populated with long staying Grey Nomads from Spring through to Autumn and the happy hours were fun times. Australia Day campers were camped three deep along the foreshore and the boaties had a floating procession around the lake displaying Aussie flags. Can't be any Gre...

With the demise of this campground as a long term camping and Grey Nomads meeting venue, and the short term restrictions placed at the site, I would recommend that this sub forum be removed and returned to the general Get Togethers forum. The extensive past popularity of this campground has been exti...

How is Greens Lake camping at the moment? Conditions, facilities, restrictions, (I saw that post)? Regards Tony

Dick0 · Dick0

Official advice from GMW is that Greens Lake camping will be restricted to seven days due to rubbish not being removed off site by campers. The situation is currently being monitored and we will see where GMW will go with this determination.

I was sitting here in my current camp thinking. Yep, that was that noise you heard. At this time of the day on the first day of a new year I and many others would be lined up at the entrance to GreenS Lake. Myself and a couple of others would have been there since 6.00am after leaving our hiding spot after the...

Some great recent photos that have been uploaded on social media showing the extent of the water level. First time view of this water level for many campers as the level was always controlled for irrigation. The water is at the top of the boat ramp now!

Water flowing into Greens... Water level now at Boat ramp and rising... Keep the water coming in... Summer will be great!

Dick0 · Dick0

Not a bad Summer turnout considering the lake is down to about 10% capacity. The lake is about half of the surface area it used to be and the Eastern end is now dry. What you see in the pics is the actual present lake. The second lake (Fresh Lake) has been dry since January. The lake may be a pond by next Summer...

As of midnight Wednesday 25/3/2020, Greens Lake has been closed until further notice. All other camping sites in the district, including Aysons reserve, have also been closed until further notice. I believe these closures apply to all camping sites in Victoria.

The installation of Bollards East and West of the Boat Ramp has been fully completed. The Bollards have LITTLE or NO effect upon the original camping sites. They do, however, stop camping upon the lake shore and have solved the environmental issue. All camping sites have been cleaned up after the In...

Dropped into Greens today on way past to see if the works were finished. I was suprised to see it was pretty much where they left it before Christmas. It was actually very nice out there, so it was a struggle to leave. Only a few regulars camping so lots of pelicans enjoying the lake without the speed boa...

Just arrived at Greens Lake, Thursday 2.30pm I could cry, really I could. Bollards 1 metre apart from the channel right through to the other end of camping area. To make matters worse in most place it is on the line of where we camped so it's just a dirt roadway for traffic next to bollards. In other place...
