And photos are now cheaper than cards! A couple of years ago I did a collage of all our family (kids, grandchildren etc) in alphabetical order with their names so everyone would know which kid was which and it was very popular. I found many kept it in their kitchen drawer and one friend even brought it 2 years later to my husband's birthday party so she would know who was who!
Another idea is to have your photos made into cards through a photo company e.g. Snapfish. I had some done from there and they came up really well. They are blank cards so you can use them for any purpose. I put a Christmas sticker inside the ones I used for Christmas last year. The company have deals going on all the time on different things so they don't cost a lot when a card deal is on.
Yes I seen those Snapfish, I just like doing the craft things myself personally. I do them plain and then as you mentioned put the stickers on for xmas this time, but maybe
birthdays etc during the year. Maybe a photo of us Nan & Pop for the grandkids, seeing as we dont get to see each other much.
I used to make crafty Christmas cards, with embossed stamps, painting, pressed flowers etc etc .
Nowadays I feel so lazy, just print lotsa copies of a suitable photo, print a greeting on plain card, cut and glue the pics on. Tried printing the photo directly onto the cards but the glued-on shiny print ones look heaps better.
oddly, the cheapest place to buy blank cards that I've found is in Tassy.
you can get cards of various sizes and envelopes and even plastic sleeves if you are making up cards for sale!

these cards will fit through your normal home computer printer. i use them all the time - printing images of my paintings that are for sale at exhibitions - it's a good little earner.
