It is Monday morning at 6am on the 6th January and I have a plan for the next week. Starting in around 2 hours I will start off for a free camp at Wagga called Wilks Park Camps6 #801 for an overnight stop before driving to Gooloogong Rest Area Camps6 #504. This will take me to around 80kms of Parkes where I will attend the Elvis Festival until next Monday. Rod will be travelling in tandem but will not be attending the festival but we intend to link up again after.
There are things to do enroute to Wagga, whilst in Shepparton I will see the Telstra office it is 12 months since I took out the 12 month subscription to have an alternate internet access and I have used little of it but can still use it up before the new subscription starts to be used. Need a gas bottle fill so that can be done before leaving Shepp. The battery debate has now been resolved apparently the lithium situation would cost more than originally planned and in my opinion would be too involved for my old bus, a bit like overkill. I have made arrangements to buy 2 @ 150 AH deep cycle AGM batteries from the Lion factory outlet in Albury enroute to Wagga.
I arrived at Greens Lake on the 22nd of October and since then have had an excellent time associating with many Grey Nomads from the forum with a few highlights. The Melbourne Cup Day, my birthday, Christmas and New Year all stand out together with the many happy hours spent round the open fires. Since New Year have had the chance to revisit Echuca and have a look at Aysons Reserve near Elmore, Rod (rover)has a Pajero separated from his van allowing for some tripping around. On the 2nd there was a mass exodus of Grey Nomads from Greens and it has been quiet since then.
So my time at Greens Lake has come to an end for this year and I look forward to meeting up with more Grey Nomads up in Queensland where hopefully we can meet up again maybe at Warooma Dam. Back to the final pack up ready for the off.
Drive safely John and Rod - enjoy your time at the Elvis festival, and will catch up along the road somewhere. We are in Seymour till Friday - and after the weekend - will head towards the Snowy Mountains area - apparently some good free camps along that route!
Brian - hope to catch up with you as well, somewhere out there!

Good on you John, enjoy Parkes they tell me it's a good festival. Wilks Park at Wagga is a good spot with good facilities and plenty of room just hope you get a good shady one. We feel we missed out this year on the Greens lake fun but there will be other years. Also we are heading up through Queensland after our Tassie odyssey planning for July to Sept so will keep a look out on the site to see where everyone is. Travel safe mate and keep those good blogs a coming.
Wilks Park was a good spot when I was there last year. However, I think the usual problems with "over-stayers", derro locals and overcrowding has caused the Wagga Wagga council to put a time limit on it. But close to town - just a short walk away.
Enjoyed your company john interesting tips , picked up 2pkts of shanks , hope to play catch up so maybe be joined by others Steve .? Leaving here when weather starts to cool..until then enjoy yr travels stay in touch I'll read yr reports give me idea where you are cya
Have a great trip north John and Rod, catch up somewhere along the way, never know where.
I may get back to Greens for a few nights before I head north. Doug, I will leave the gate open but I will turn out the lights.
