Purchased a Weber BabyQ recently, and wanted a cover for it, as it lives in the underbed storage, and also while out under the awning, to keep dust etc., out.
Bought one of the cheap stripy bags - the largest one - cut the handle end off till it was the perfect size to fit over the bbq, also goes under the feet. Put a long bunjee strap around it, and perfect. Saved several $$'s - I think the name brand bags are about $40!!

Saw a fellow caravanner with about 5 of those bags all sown into various shapes to suit their bits and pieces, She had bound the seams with strong tape, as the edges are the weak point as you said bob. And she said they'd lasted several years.
I have an old Singer industrial sewing machine and make all my own shade screens for the awning out of shade cloth from Bunnings as well as making all the bags and covers for everything else..
Like what else do you do with all the offcuts when you make something..lol.
Might have a go at putting some strong fabric type tape around the unbound edge - see how that goes. I can see that it will get some wear when we are moving it into storage, so a good idea to try something, but might buy another bag as well, as a spare, cheap enough!

Hi Jules and all. We purchased a babyQ about 12 mths ago and purchased a custom cover for it from the same shop (BBQ Galore) it is a really well made cover and was not over the top $$ wise. Keeps the Weber in good nick.
