The power cord connecting the power source, genny or power pole in CP, blows in the wind, causing the plughole cover to flap annoyingly in the wind.
To solve this, we have put two self adhesive power cord clips (quite cheap) on the wall, and put the cord through them - the cord doesn't move, and the flap stays still. Simple, but effective.

We just put a strong elastic band around the cord, plug it in and then stretch the elastic band over the flapping flap. Easy. The strap from the awning has an annoying flapping habit too... have tried tying it to all sorts of things when the awning is down but when its closed there,s about 9 inches of flapping strap... ideas anybody?
Hi Gerty, I know what you mean. On a windy night it's like someone is tapping on the van wanting to be admitted. I've used a couple of methods, one is to tape that extra 9 inches or so of cord with some of that silver tape onto the van, it comes off easily but holds it fast. I've also extended the 9 inches with another longer piece of cord and tied that to whatever is handy outside the van, I've used the clothes rack, a chair or whatever is available - even if it's the wheel and that also stops the flapping.

Sounds like you have a poptop & yes its annoying.
Just tuck the end of the strap into the back of the awning roll along alittle from where its located so there is no surplus & its fine, pull it back out before lowering the roof.

Thanks all. I tried putting another bit of cord through its loop which gave me enough length to tie the flapper to that post. All good now

PS. The kind of rubber bands we use for securing the plug-hole cap, also to secure guy-ropes, a bunch of pegs etc, are those bands sold as girls pony-tail holders. Good and strong, bright coloured so you don't lose them.
