Woolomin near Tamworth NSW

Wednesday morning and we set off for our next camp site Woolomin

Reserve Camps6 #176 not a long trip, around 160kms. Getting into a

routine for travelling days involving setting off around 7.30am to do

grocery shopping at a main town enroute. Today it was Quirindi and found an IGA on the main road to Wallabadah, bought more for the freezer and am also geting fond of tinned fruit with custard.

We called in to the First Fleet Memorial Gardens where I had camped

last year on the way to Greens Lake, Rod hadn't been there so he was

interested and took photos. We moved on towards Woolomin and arrived

there mid day set up camp then found that there was no internet or

phone coverage there. We went for a drive back to Chaffey Dam where we

could camp with internet but at a cost per night it was very windy

there and few flat places to camp.

We decided to move on tomorrow to Bundarra via Tamworth and get

internet whilst passing through Tamworth. Apart from the internet and

phone coverage this is a good camp ground with plenty of room,

flushing toilets and on the bank of a river. You can camp here for 30days free,

there are some powered sites but after Premer we were

battery full and didn't enquire if there was any vacancy.

The weather broke today and we were not subjected to constant 40

degree heat, my freezer has been working overtime getting to minus 14

overnight but minus 1 by the end of the day. Today it has only dropped

to minus 9 but it is going into Evercool in Caloundra for a check.

over..

Tinned fruit and custard sounds like my gummy diet, John. Nice though. That pop-top trailer with the awning has a surprising amount of indoor/outdoor living space - looks very comfy. Great pics too. Thanks for the update.

Sounds good the fruit and custard. I use those plastic containers from SPC and Ardmona instead of the glass jars or tins after they are empty. Use them for Coffee/Tea Bags / Sugar etc. Cheap way to cut down on weight and possible breakage of glass and lighter than tins.

Love the river couch for hot weather.
