Not sure if I posted this post but it was still sitting here from last Christmas for some reason....so here it is in case it didn't post before.
How many of you have knitted the circular shawl that was in a baby pattern book years ago? I had been given a whole packet of feathersoft 3 ply (when it was small balls). I decided to 'get ahead' and knit the circular shawl I made for our third baby (it went to Africa with a friend and never came back!) for our daughter - so it's ready when she finally gets married and has a bub. (Side track here - yippee - she's now engaged!!) We were on the road for 9 1/2 weeks last year so it was my car project. I finished it but was not happy that it didn't sit right. There was something wrong with the pattern in the middle and not enough stitches around the outside. I consulted a knitting friend and she thought I needed to undo the middle and re-knit it back into the middle. FUN. I did that and was half way there but decided the problem wasn't going to be solved. So 12 weeks of knitting (9.5 + 2.5 fiddling) came undone in 3 hours! I have decided to re-work the wool into a crocheted shawl. I have about 1" done. Yes, I could have cried. Then I looked at another one I was knitting from the corner up (cast on 2 stitches and increase at the beginning of each row) It wasn't right because I had forgotten the pattern and had been increasing at the beginning and end of every row. So it was undone and I've restarted it. I guess it's been a lesson in patience. I'd rather be quilting. But am having a break until the new year.
