See, 40 years of being a skipper, and making my own forcasts weren,t wasted, thank god.Tmrow will be the worst day, with biggest tide of the year, and a storm surge happening at the same time. Will ring friends in the morning. The ferrys to Magnetic island stopped at midday. Hope there,s not too much damage. Bill
I would put my money on you being right Bill. I hope it does no damage.
Looks as though Townsville dodged the bullet, but Bowen got it, T/C Dylan,cat2, crossed the coast nr Bowen early this Morning. Will Ring my 83 year olduncle who lives just nth of Bowen at first light.Bill
Well Bill your assessment was right and mine was wrong. I didn't think from the information I had it would turn into a full blown Cyclone. I haven't read the news on Nth. Qld. yet, but I hope all is ok for you and family and all people in the affected areas.

Since light travels faster than sound, some people appear bright until you hear them speak.
I just rang my 84 yearold uncle at Merinda, justnth of Blowen, and he said he had no damage, but the road is cut sth .Am at Blunderberg, on my way to Cooloola cove, Rainbow beach to visit friends. Will probably be at my sisters place at Pomona tonight, and stay for a few days.Weather seems tobe getting better as I go south.See ya on the track, Bill
Made it to Pomona, and the b.i.l. is working of 4 Harleys in his shed. Most people have one Harley - he has 4! 2 road kings and couple of Project bikes. One of the road kings is a beauty and I wouldn,t mind having it myself. Will probably go out to Harry Springs Hut, on the upper Noosa river to fish for bass over the weekend. Willbein the area for about a week, and then down to Redcliffe for the Broncos vs Cowboys trial game.Give me a pm if you are in the area. See ya soon, Bill.
Went down to Johnnos landing on the Noosa river for a look , and there are plenty of people there, some of them a bit feral looking, but it seems a nice spot down by the river. The last 1 klm or so is dirt, but not too bad.Might try it next time. Going to a barby tnight, and will go up to Harrys hut on the upper nooser. to catch a few bass, tommorrow. The road in is a roughtrack, but it keeps the riff raff out. Will post if I have signal

Onlyoneproblem-I couldn,t get the boat in.Qld Natparks has blocked all access except to canoes or kayaks with large logs, and backing out I damaged my outboard motor. What a pain!So back to my sisters place. I will try to get parts today, Still upper Noosa river is a lovely place.
Am at Redcliffe, one of my old stamping grounds , as I have had my fill of Noosa, and their world supply of roundabouts.Still a nice spot, but a bit too many people for me. Will have a cuppa with Scarborough Pete, and tmrow, go to the Dolphins oval for the Cowboys vs Broncos trial match. My rellies are all Broncos supporters, but I have Howdy hat and my Cowboys uniform. Go the Cowboys.Sunday, I,m off the see Beth at Logan, Then heading further south. Will post further down the track. Bill

Went to the Cowboys vs Broncos Game at Redcliffe , and had a great time. All the rellies were there, inc Sister and BIL, son and grandkids, and they were all disappointed as the Cowboys won 32 to 4 !Wore my Howdy hat, and then made my sister, who is a rabbid Broncos supporter, to wear It as a bet if Cowboys won.Great game. Has a cuppa with Beth54 at Logan, this morning and am now at Stotts Is. Reserve, with the Chooks.
Am at Wooli, a lovely little place 50 odd klms from Grafton on the coast. Got 2 nice bream in the river, and will stay and have a go later. tried for some beach worms , butnone about. Will have a go for a jewfish , tonight. $4.50 for a loaf of bread.Willbe here for the night. Bill
Yes , that,s the way I like it.The less people, equals more fish.It has the usual bowls club , post office, gen store, and fishing shop. Off to Taree tmrow.Bill
