Hi Wombat

I have a mover fitted to my van and very happy with the result. It is the EGO supplied by http://www.purpleline.com.au/

I only wish that I had fitted same many years ago.

My van is a single axle van, but these motors can be fitted to a tandem but you then need 4 motors

I have a very tight situation to maneuver my van into a carport It is downhill into the carport and quite steep uphill coming out and at the same time have to turn 90 degrees as I come out of the car port.

Previously I always had to have assistance to get the van in and out.

There are video's and information on the link.

There are a number of brands of caravan movers on the market.

I tried a number of van movers that take the place of the jockey wheel but they all were unable to handle the slope out of the carport due to the lack of traction on the driving wheel.

I now just stand there with the remote in my hand and can easily put the van precisely where I want it to go.

Cheers

David

Just had another look at that eBay one and the heading says Duel and after scrolling down it says single. Hmmmm

I would then have to pay for shipping and approx $800 for fitting.

Thanks for your feedback

If you are handy you can fit the units yourself with the help of a friend, the fitting instructions are easy to follow but it will take some of your time, the hardest part was drilling the holes in the chassis in my van they where high tensile steel.

We jacked the van up high enough to put car ramps under the wheels which gave us a reasonable amount of room under the van to work.

These units are overkill if you have concreted level ground the jockey wheel type of van movers will do the job.

This is one of many units on Ebay http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Camper-Trolley-Caravan-or-Boat-Mover-/181312369045?pt=Caravan_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2a370f3195&_uhb=1

Cheers

David

hahaha, the first line of your statement David really cuts Wombat out, 1 not handy & 2 is the real clincher, he has no friends unless someone has put up there hand for that this week.

Ok will let you get back to your serious convo now,
