After travelling to Melbourne in 42 and 40 degree heat, it was nice to cool down. On the overnight ferry to Davenport we had a supposed smooth trip. Not sure what a rough one would be !!! After an amazing breakfast with Dougwe we headed off to Launceston. We caught up with Big Gorilla in the afternoon. It was nice to get to know him. An early morning walk around the environs at Cataract Gorge was a brilliant start to the next day. Then it was off to George Town and the afternoon spent exploring the town and the old lighthouse. The dog kennel we stayed in was complete with fleas! Or something that was biting us. Drat, we were taken in by the photos of the new updated cabins and were put in the old shabby chic one. With the emphasis on the SHABBY! All part of the adventure!!! So we left there early in the morning and made our way here to Coles Bay. Stopped of at St Helens for morning tea and Bicheno for lunch. Unfortunately drove into road works which reduced our travelling time and put enough dust on the car to turn it from silver to white. It has NEVER been this dirty. Even after the red dust storm a few years ago! When we walked into our suite here at the Edge of the Bay resort it made up for last night's accommodation. The view is spectacular. Will post as soon as we download. Today we are off on a cruise to Wineglass Bay weather permitting. Fingers cross we can get there. Have a good day everyone. Cheers from M & D
Sounds like you two are having a great start to the world of retirement out in the playground. Maybe you should put a new flea collar on mongrel, Adele, that might sort that problem out.
Keep having a great time in Tassie, the best is yet to come and I tell you that for free.

Did consider the flea collar (Delilah speaking), haven't seen any dead wombats on the road but dozens of wallabies. Mongrel has now taken control.... I think the wombats are staying in as they have heard that Dougwe has altered his wombat bar and they don,t like the angle in which he has directed it.
Yesterday a storm passed over Coles Bay , in and out in 5 mins....
Move off today and heading for Port Arthur .Will be there for 2 days and then off to Hobart...Apart from the stay at Low Head we are enjoying Tasmania ..Will post again soon to let you all know how it is going .
