Another week at Wuruma Dam and I have now been here for 4 weeks. All in all the weather as not good for camping by the dam but we escaped the heavy downpours that followed the coast down, needed the generator for three days with a couple of hours each day. The new 150AH batteries would have coped but I didnt want to pull them down too far. We still had our get togethers at the covered tables nearby and our spirits were high.
Received two emails from the Post office telling me of the receipt of the deliveries, apparently they were generated automatically when the goods were received and scanned at the PO. How good is that especially when we were cut off as far as my optus phone was concerned. John took me into Eidsvold to collect my parcels and that was very helpful since it as Friday and I was anxious to get my goodies
The camera ordered from Teds Camera Shop Online was delivered during the week as were the blocks to mount the portable solar panel. That took care of a couple of days first reading the camera manual and getting used to the Cannon Powershot then fitting the solar panel on top of the bus. Rod did an excellent job there completely ignoring my suggestions and doing it his way which was much better than mine as it turned out.
We have had scones and cakes during the week, Julie did the honours so the high quality of our get togethers was maintained after Sandras departure. Met another couple who moved temporarily into Wuruma Heights and was offered an excellent pixel reducing program which I loaded onto my laptop. This allows me to reduce the pixel size of my pictures by file instantly to a pre selected size.
I used to use Photo Shop individually and it was time consuming but Pixresizer does a better job enmass saving them to a separate file whilst returning the originals to their files untouched. I now use 600 X 450 for around 75kbs and upload them very quickly and cant tell the difference from the previously uploaded files. Have given the program to Steve so he can upload to his blog more easily.
As you can see I am struggling to find interesting happenings over the past week but our water activities have been reduced with Darrell packing up his rubber ducky and Roy taking his canoe away. So apart from swimming in the dam for a few hardy souls the dam hasnt given us much amusement, the cold shower was a happy hunting ground for Billeees camera and no doubt we will see pics from there later. I will try to pinch some of his action from his Facebook Page.
We have had a couple of arrivals joining our Grey Nomads community, Marj and Steve came and Roy has left us. To use our forum names we now have Billeee and Jules, Cruising Cruze, Rover, Happywanderer, Solo Steve and myself yeoeleven.

Hi Judy,
we have another visitor Paul (My Van) arrived yesterday.
Thinking of moving on at the end of this month, get Easter over and done with before travelling north.
What a disgusting view you have out your door John. There should be a law against that
Sorry I didn't call in for a day or two on way to Townsville but with car problems talked about in "Techies" I needed to get here ASAP. Hope to catch up with you in one or two of your Townsville hiding spots mate.
Enjoy the dam and surrounds.
