Solo's Discount On Powered & Unpowered Sites - Crystal Brook Caravan Park WA

Good to see the discounts they give solo's at this park for both powered and unpowered sites.

Prices for two people are good too considering the close proximity to Perth and the Airport.

See;  http://crystalbrookcaravanpark.com.au/tarrifs/

The park has new managers and has been upgraded to how it used to be with new ablutions etc.

Gday...

Thanks for the info Vic. This will suit many.

However, despite the "close proximity to Perth and airport" ... these seem pretty steep prices -

OWN VAN POWERED SITE (TOURIST)

1 PERSON- $30.00 PER NIGHT / $195.00 PER WEEK

2 PEOPLE $33.00 PER NIGHT / $210.00 PER WEEK

EXTRA PERSON $12.00 P/NIGHT $45.00 P/WEEK

PLUS ALL POWER

I guess it is all relevant ... to the going rates in Perth.

Not sure they would get my business ... but then again, I don't go near such big cities - unless it is completely unavoidable. cry

cheers - John

Gday...

I see what ya mean ... I jest did some research around Perth ... and Crystal Brook seems to be the cheapest. It appears a powered site in most of the others are over $45 per night.

Having said that, I still think powered sites at the rates I have now seen, no matter where they are located in this country, are exorbitant.

Thankfully, I avoid such cities and I certainly hope I don't have to prop in one for some unforeseen, unfortunate reason. I certainly could not afford any of those prices.

Guess, some smaller, cheaper town had better have the facilities I require should unforeseen, unfortunate circumstances arise.

Cheers - John

From what I have seen John, some doing the western side from over east need to be near Perth at some stage for medical or caravan repairs that can mostly only be done in the metro area, so need a stay here whether they prefer to or not, so need to seek out the cheapest in most cases while here for whatever period that needs to be.   Also some want to explore the Perth region.

There are some excellent cheaper ones in the country towns away from the coast and of course those listed in the camps book.

I hate cities too and avoid them like the plague when travelling by road and only go into the city when I have to.

If I was a solo visiting Perth and looking at an unpowered site at $22 a night I would be looking very hard at the Crystal Brook CP.

It has had some bad press lately because of an incident involving visitors and a permanent resident which is unfortunate but a GN said on another thread that they found it a very clean and well managed park to stay at.

Well Bugger that..

I went to Adelaide for the Weekend of 5th April to go to Comic Con..
- I was at the Friday night Function, I parked down the street from the Venue in the Bus/Coach zone-- No Hassle's at all..

Once that event finished I drove to the Showgrounds and found a Parking spot on the Street and set myself up..
- No time limit for the Weekend, so I just camped there for the whole weekend..

My Bus is fairly self contained at the moment even thou it not Complete in it's fit-out..
- bus Power at the moment is only supplied via a 12v simple setup..

So Look, you can find places to park overnight as long as you don't overstay your time frame..

There are a couple of 24 hour Macca's in Perth with big carparks where you can do at least one overnighter, not sure about caravans but campervans and maybe bus may be ok, but worth a try anyway.

Cup of coffee, use their free wi fi connection for your laptop, something to eat and toilets.  I think as long as you are seen to be a customer they don't worry about you too much.

I spent some time in the early hours of the morning in a brightly painted campervan in one of their carparks waiting for someone coming in on a flight, had a coffee and a bite to eat and a nap without any problems, I noticed a shift change during that time.

I found that if the 24hr Macca's are associated with a Fuel station that also does truck's..

- Fill up your fuel..
- Park the whatever and then use their Shower Facilities..
- Grab What ever you want either eats or drink's
As you said Free WiFi...

I did something very similar in the USofA for the last half of my trip..

I would have to highly recommend it...
