Started up the bus yesterday and found no ignition lights and no gauges, neither was there any charge going into the cranking battery.
The day after the long weekend is not a good time to find someone to look at the problems but after some Skype phone calls I was on my way to Monto. After some investigating checking fuses, alternator and regulator the problem was partially fixed so now the bus charges from the alternator but I have no gauges so I can't tell how fast I am travelling or whether the petrol is running out or temperature too high.
Not to worry I have the phone number of a good auto elec in Biloela who will make the time to check out all the wiring and restore the bus to good again. So after more time on the internet I will return to Wuruma Dam and set an appointment for next Monday, the time planned to move on.
So now I have a partner in tug/bus electrical problems John. Not good mate. I hope the Auto Elec can sort things out for you. I am still waiting on my tug, all going well should get it back before this weekend, all sorted I hope.

Problems over, saw the auto elec at 8.30am as planned and got a call at 11.30am all fixed and ok.
He checked over all the contacts and corrected some the end result cost around $300 with no parts needed.
Have finished my shopping now that I know that I can travel on and will proceed to Dawson River 7kms past Moura for a few days. Anyone in the area is invited to call in. John
Good to hear , young fella. We're still at Townsville for another week or so waiting for the magnetic mounts to suit the 5.2m telescopic phone/internet antenna to arrive as they were on back order. Not a problem as we both enjoy it here with my new grandson, Lucas. Once the mounts turn up we'll then start meandering westwards. Pity about the pic, I'll replace it with a better one shortly
