Anyone visiting Hervey Bay? We live here and are happy to host a get together.

If you are heading to Hervey Bay and would like to meet up we live here and are parked up at the moment.  Happy to host a get together with others or have you drop in for a cuppa.  We've lived here for 10 years and happy to help out wherever we can.  We also have space in our garden for one van.  See our post in budget accom Qld for details

Cheers,  Christina and Ken

Hi Alfie,  Would love to meet up with you when you arrive in Hervey Bay.  Calliope River is a great place to stop next to the river.

Miriamvale is a good place to stop for lunch at the Pub.  Rest area right across the road is level enough for a caravan and the streets are wide.  We had a nap before moving on to stay overnight at Granite Creek Rest Area (115) in my camps book.  Try to get there early and park away from highway.  There is a bit of road noise, but the camp is free.  Next to a creek, on granite boulders which vibrate when the big trucks roll past.  OK for one night.

Gin Gin Showgrounds  (119) is a lovely rural setting walking distance to a lovely little town.  Campsites are well spaced out.  Water, power, from memory about $18?

or less.  Great spot and very popular so get there early.  By sunset they have run out of powered sites.

Hope this helps.  Please call us if you would like more info.  0418191758  07 41244496  evening best for us.

We also host Grey Nomads here in Hervey Bay on our property as the local council does not provide any free camping sites.

You can see our details on the forum for budget camping queensland under Fraser Coast Hosts.

This time of the year caravan parks here charge $40 - $50 per night.  Our rate is $20 couple $15 single  for a powered site with water, own bathroom, share laundry, great garden, walk to the beach, camp kitchen, great hosts......give us a call.

Have fun,

Christina & Ken

Hi frasercoast host,

not a good idea to put your phone details on a open forum, maybe do an edit and delete your number and then post asking members to PM you for contact details.

anybody online can see you post but only members can send or receive a PM.

Yes, I have had a few enquiries from Grey Nomads who are thinking of coming here. No one has given me dates yet. We only have the one space. Don't want to disappoint anyone, just let me know as soon as you know. Enjoy our beautiful warm winter weather.

Alfie, I've just taken a booking for 3 months from our Gumtree Advertisment. Sorry I won't be able to accomodate you with your Van, but will be more than happy to have you come by for a meet up. Can give you lots of local information and show you around if you haven't been here before.

Cheers, Christina and Ken

Hi Alfie lovely to have you drop in for afternoon tea. Looks like beautiful weather for your whale watching. Have fun at Tin Can Bay and Rainbow Beach. I do recommend that you go to the Eumundi Markets. Stay at Cooroy Scout Camp next to the lake and drive down early on Saturday morning. It is very popular and get quite crowded.
See you next time. Safe travelling.
Cheers, Christina and Ken
