Free Camping: How and Where?

Hi Fellow Campers

We and our Mobile Cubbyhouse ( a jayco eagle we have recently purchased ) are wondering what to look for and what to avoid when free camping. We wish to be respectful when camping and stay short period of times at sites ( not be permanent at beautiful spots ) as some people do, or so we've heard.

Basically what do we look for when trying to find a spot, how do we know we can camp there ( or is it someone's property and they will chase us off in the middle of the night ). Also does anyone know of a state to state list of places people have free camped?

Thanks from Mobile Cubbyhouse

Try Wiki Camps, or get both like many of us have.

Welcome to the gang MC, enjoy here and out in the playground.

I can't really add anymore but to say I use both suggestions together, I check camps book then look it up on wicki to read the comments and a idea of cost if any. Make sure you add your comments to wicki as you go because the more that do that the more info is out there for all to see.
