span a twisted wire between the 2 ends and hooked the hangers in between them
I'm most certain that they wont jump out of the wire

What about coat hangers like some motels/park cabins have. They have a round end that slips over the rail then clips together to keep on rail.

I had this problem once and solved it by putting a rubber band round 3-4 hangers.............a bit more weight on the rod maybe.

If you cut a piece of Polly pipe in half lengthways and clip it over the top of the hooks on the rail works too.

I think I have solved the issue .

While in Cheap as Chips the other day we found some hangers with a solid "body" and a wire hook. A couple of minutes with a pair of pliers had the wire hook closed up so that it has to be squeezed over the rail in the cupboard and now will resist "jumping" off the rail when the van goes over a bump.

No issues for the last 235km home.

We suffered the same problem a few years ago when we had bed and wardrobes at the rear of the van where the bounce and movement is the greatest.The problem was easily solved by squashing a length of foam rubber (free remnants from Clark ) between the top of the rail and and the roof of the wardrobe. Now have a front bed room and don't suffer the problem. Hope this helps someoneIan

We fixed the problem by squeezing the hooks in a bit.

we got some of the old wire ones and bent the wire around the rail then clipped the clothes on with pegs, and cheap.

Funny thing about clothes hangers. We have a "towel rail" hanging high in our ensuite, rungs north south - if you know what I mean. The 10 plastic hangers that live there for when I hang wet washing, never move - even when we do corrugated roads.

Not for the hangers but something to stop the clothes falling off (rubbers bands), also storing that spare pair of sheets inside their pillow case...
